Description:

If you are an architecture enthusiast like us, this tour is for you! Join us on an Architecture Tour and we will take you to see some of the greatest examples of contemporary architecture, with a focus on the Portuguese architecture but not restricted to it.

Porto is the birthplace of two Pritzker Prize winners: Álvaro Siza Vieira and Eduardo Souto de Moura. Walking through the city you will be able to see works from different stages of their careers and capture the evolution of their designs.

We will take you to some of the greatest buildings in Porto and tell you all about their developments: from the Serralves Museum to the refurbishment of Aliados Avenue, we will visit the early work of Casa das Artes and the Torre de Burgo project, passing through the Architecture Faculty, Casa da Música and Bairro da Bouça.

Between the main stops, we will talk about the much discussed Porto School of Architecture, the characteristics of Portuguese architecture and the major problems that the city of Porto is facing in recent times.

And if you are interested in any other building or specific architect let us know and we will design a tour that matches your needs!

Me ha llamado la atención AtWill por conseguir decir-les cuales mis intereses antes de hacer el tour. ¡Soy aficionado de arquitectura e ellos me llevaran a conocer increíbles edificios de Oporto!

I highly recommend taking the architecture tour. I learnt a lot, not just about the buildings but also about the culture and the recent history of the city.

I chose this tour because I love architecture and design, but had very little prior knowledge. The guide, Natacha, was born in Porto and knows the city well. She has a passion for architecture and it shows. She gave me in-depth descriptions and explanations and answered all my questions.
There’s great value in touring with a local expert, getting an insider view of the place and having the opportunity to ask questions and expand your knowledge.

This is a 4 hour tour, with a short break, and it covers many parts of the city and many different types of buildings in that time frame. Some of the buildings and landmarks are not in the city centre and I probably wouldn’t have discovered them myself…

We had a fantastic afternoon exploring Porto’s modern architecture. Our guide was well-informed, fun to be with, and eager to talk about lots of different aspects of life in Porto–including the effects of development and tourism, cultural life, urban planning, and of course architecture. As an architectural guide myself, I have high expectations for these kinds of tours, and they were more than met. I highly recommend AtWill to anyone who wants an insider’s look at a wonderful city.
